My defender
New landy owner, I was a defender owner in my early twenties when I was into a little off road and green landing, but over the last 7 years I changed to other cars. Had an Astra VXR for 5 years then owned a Freelander sport LE 61 Reg for 18 months, fantastic motor BTW, then for some stupid reason thought I wanted a BMW 330d touring m sport! That lasted 6 weeks, was a nice smooth quick car, but was boring me to death! So took a hit on that and finally come back to my sensors and decided it was time for another defender

Got my Mrs a brand new JCW mini so she is happy and the defender is my new daily ☺️, why I didnt stick with them years ago is beyond me! But must leave the nest to realise what home really means. Owned for just over a month and everyday Im loving her more and more, some photos of her how she came! PS Im not Paddy Kirk from emmerdale 😂 just look a like 😂

Ive not gone mad on upgrades yet! Just so far Ive put a mantec snorkel on her and a 3 piece steal steering guard, painted the surrounds and grille black and put some 30mm wheel spacers on, oh and a dog guard and then seat covers with the umbrella, all from paddock spares as only a short drive ☺️ Lucky me!! 😂

PS if anyone can tell me what grey new motor is Id appreciate it, hope to enjoy the forum and meet some like minded people, and if I can help out in anyway I will do my best! Would also be interested in some greenlane days if there is any around Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire areas

Jim ☺️

United Kingdom 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Orkney Grey
Welcome to Def2 and your new purchase looks great. I felt just the same when I returned to Defenders a couple of years ago.

I'd guess colour is the same as mine Orkney Grey? The paint code is normally written on the VIN plate

Hello Jim.

Welcome back to the Defender fold. This whole Defender thing is like something my late father told me one time many years ago about the timber business - it's not a career he said, more like an incurable disease! Thankfully I have caught both "diseases". One simple mod I would recommend is a Mud UK snow cowl. It keeps all the crap out of the heater. Very best with the Defender.

Regards,

Mobilesawmiller.

Hi all, slight update, thank you all for the welcomes and ideas, I’ve taken them on board and purchased some more goodies ☺️

I’ve got some photos of what’s been done. Please excuse the dirty photos but not had the weather to give her a clean, and I’ve been doing a fair bit of greenlanes and snow driving 😜

Mods so far are mantec snorkel, 3 piece steering guard, light surrounds and grille painted black, and the wheel spacers, I’ve removed the dog guard, still use the seat covers, come in handy in this weather.

New mods from last post are limited! Just two things I believe, I’ve fitted truck-lite LED headlamps and as recommended a MUD UK snow cowl ☺️ Oh and if it counts as a mod a disklok ☺️☺️☺️

Still loving the motor more and more btw ☺️

Other things I want in the near future are some LED side lights and rock/tree sliders from paddock spares, also hopefully got a spare alloy to come anytime now to get rid off the white steel spare!! Would also love a new set of BFG tyres but been told I have to wait! Want to go from 235/85/16 to 265/75/16 for the tyres to stick out a little more and to have the white writing showing.

Hope you enjoy the photos ☺️ Jim.

Haha cheers matey. I’m ashamed to say it will only be her second wash. And first clean inside. By me at least 😮

Sure when summer is here it will be a different story

Just been catching up with your story so far Jim, looking good already! Yours is similar to how mine used to look...don't fall down on the same slippery slope as me Embarassed Whistle lol

What do you think to the LED headlights ? probably my best mod so far, absolutely love the light mine put out and mine are an inferior product to yours so I bet they are epic Thumbs Up My 90 Project : http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic52774.html
