Drop the floor back in with a few 5mm nuts and bolts through the existing rivet holes where the stiffeners under the floor are, this will stabilise the tub enough for driving on the road.
Drive the car home, remove the floor and do a proper job on the rust at your leisure then bolt the floor back in and take the car back to have the floor fitted properly, this also has the advantage of being able to clean up and paint the underside of the floor. Whatever you do I would strongly recommend not applying any wax based products until you are happy that you have treated the rust as it becomes a right pig to remove when you do want to treat the rust and can actually camouflage the spread of the existing rust.

Good luck with whatever option you choose to go with and let us know how you get on, preferably with pictures Thumbs Up

I did joke he could fit butterfly bolts for the boot floor Smile

Anyway I will do what I can with what I have, I'm going there this evening to sand down and use this rust stuff before spraying and wax oil tomorrow,

I know there are hundreds of different views on what is best but both these products seem to get good reviews. Also it was a case of what I can get at short notice.

The chassis is 40 plus years old and it is good shape so hopefully this is better than leaving it,
