Clock Illumination
Having replaced my half dead filament lamp dashboard illumination with white LEDs I'm liking the new clean look. But it has made the clock illumination look dim. I can't see a way to open the clock to upgrade it - has anyone else succeeded?

PS: Don't make the mistake of using the green LED pack. It makes the red/orange parts of the dash glow brown, and makes the dials less readable because the needles turn green (against a green background).

Which LEDs did you use? Looks really nice.

This kit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272082356899.

However... the B8.5d bayonet fit lamps for the speedo didn't fit well as supplied, so I transferred the LEDs into the OE Osram housing & contacts. A very easy job with a pair of needle nose pliers. I've reported this to the seller and he was very responsive and apologetic.

The clock has integral surface mount lighting within it - so you’d need to open it up and manually replace it.
