OME shocks / Bilstein ?
2007 TdCi 90 chipped/bas intercooler ,18” Bowlers...
I think I am pretty settled on OME shocks for mainly road use. Minimal towing but once a fortnight I carry around 200 kg + .
OME do 3 x different grades of shock described as Light / med etc.
Which to go for OR bilstein

Seriously either are ok, have you looked at konis as well?

England 2014 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Corris Grey
Fitted Bilstein on my 110 usw with a comfort suspension kit from a well known company and made it harder than standard so i have taken them off the rear and back to original shocks which is much better havnt had time to remove them from the front, Bilsteins are way to stiff i was very disappointed with the ride i also so fitted an uprated anti roll bar which i have removed as it was rubbing the standard fuel tank guard.

+1 for Koni shocks. Can't fault them and are fully adjustable to suit whichever set up you require Thumbs Up

-1 for Konis not a patch on Old Man Emu IMHO.

They did not cope very well with the extra weight of the roll cage and the adjustability part is just a gimmick as you do have to remove each shock to adjust. If you do want adjustable shock absorbers then think about those that have a physical switch.

I fitted the shocks,springs and ARB as detailed and found it a softer ride, in fact S.H.M.B.O. said she thought it felt like the Disco 1 we had previously. I will have to get underneath to see if the A.R.B. is rubbing. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Richard be interested to see if your anti roll bar has rubbed the tank guard my did after a day so i removed it, i had a disco 1 and mine did not drive like that infact my wife said what the F"""" have u done to this she was not happy. Made my back door really rattle as the ride was so hard.

With shocks it's really a case of what works for you. From my prospective the original equipment lasted only too60KKm,s. whilst O.M.E (Yellow Monroe,s) do have a strong following out here Koni have a good reputation for durability and performance. Usually I give the go to OEM, but in this case went too Koni! Originals only going too 60KKm,s was a bit ordinary. My theory its probably the heat out here, two years for battery's and all!👍 Time will tell! Very Happy

Got Bilsteins on my 90 (it had them on when I bought it) and it has definitely made it a stiffer/harsher ride.

I’ve got some standard shocks but not yet got around to fitting them. Rolling Eyes

I’ve had Konis fitted to the 130 with standard OEM springs with no issues and it’s loaded all the time.
