Preferences for a pub lunch or packed lunch?
Obviously I'm not making your sandwiches for you Wink

I'll have a decent selection of recovery stuff with me in case one of us makes a cockup, although I'm aiming to avoid anything that's too sodden so we don't damage it.

Thanks Merlin!

I'm happy with a packed lunch, personally but whatever you chaps want to do.
I'll bring my own recovery kit too, can't see that we'll need it but better to have it and not need it ...

OK, packed lunches it is. Saves having to find a pub!

The approximate route is Redbourn, east to Wheathampstead, south to Sandridge, go between St Albans and Hatfield, round Hatfield to the south and then east, up to Hertford, a little twiddle round the north west of Hertford around Datchworth Green, then east to Baker's End (that's quite a big jump).

From Baker's Green it's then north roughly following the Ermine Street route that was in LRO recently, to Standon and a load of fords, Furneux Pelham and a really long ford, Barkway, Reed, up through Royston, over to Melbourn and that's the end.

That should be plenty for a day's outing. I've got it all loaded in my phone, I've got good maps of the whole area, all should be good. If I'm leading I'm not promising to do it perfectly and never screw it up!

Glad you all had such a great day. Is that the Standon ford in the pictures?

Thanks for the pictures Smile

Sorry some if it was a bit more scratchy than it could have been.
you probably made the correct call with the last couple of lanes, despite having been featured in LRO recently the one after you left was impassable too, just had a footpath through the middle. The last one was quite a nice one with open fields, but then there was a locked gate at the far end of it.

No problem.

Nothing that can’t be repaired so no worries about the damage. All part and parcel of the hobby. Thumbs Up

And yes I think it was the Standon Ford, Cupboard can confirm though. I was just following Laughing
