Window pane retaining clamps Door Card Clip/Stud fasteners Roof Lining Christmas Trees Door hinge bolt set Floorpan Screw Kit Prefer quality parts rather than 'best value'. Ta Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Your local JLR dealer can provide all genuine parts you need.

Eric, you mistake (French-speaking) Switzerland with France. Same language, different cultures. Almost any time I have had to deal with a garage, even a brand dealer, they always have to order the parts in, and this included the mighty - and French - Renault, let alone BMW, Audi and Land Rover. What's more it can take weeks, no less so for parts as specialised as clips for the no-longer-produced Defender. As an example I ordered a part for a chimney from a supplier in the UK that arrived from Holland in three days, whereas the local supplier in Annemasse quoted four weeks for the same part from the same factory and three times the price!! Just last week I picked up a glass shelf I ordered for a small 'cubby' in a shower cubicle, 10cms deep, 30cms wide, tempered. I went to the largest glass supplier in the region. Six weeks and 78 later.... And the idea of plumbers' or electricians' merchants is beyond a joke. I'd hate to work in those trades locally. All my bike parts are from the UK, (Wiggle etc), arrive within three days and are half the price, at least. Additionally the nearest LR dealer is far from local, being in Annecy or Annemasse, so a two hour round trip. And forget using any website they may have, it'll be rubbish. Finally, being France, the parts will be nothing less than expensive, so I can either get OE cheaper in the UK or pay the same prices as the French suppliers but for better AM parts. This, is not about 'knocking the French', (indeed a French friend who has a 110SW orders all his parts from the UK), but it's sadly the trait across all services and suppliers, not just car dealers. So whilst I am a big fan of supporting local trades and businesses where I can (over and above the internet) when you can be paying as much as double for a given item, or on the other hand could be paying the same money for something far better quality, financial decisions trump moral ones. And without labouring the point, this is based on those famous social charges. To put this in context, my wife is the business manager for a company that employs numerous seasonal staff through the peak seasons. When they looked at the comparative tax/social rates between the UK and France for all the British employees who have the right to pay their tax in the UK if preferred, the UK's bill for five months of work was 30,000/40,000 whilst had it been paid in France for the same period, it would have been 250.000. That is not a typo... So sadly in this instance it will be an on-line, UK based purchase which will likely be ordered and fitted long before the French dealership has even typed in the order into their archaic computer, let alone it's projected arrival in a couple of weeks time... Monsieur Le Grenadier,
Thanks for the lengthy explanation. So Dan's your man. Actually Dan often is my man too, as our Swiss LR part prices often are just prohibitive. Buying from Dan is perfect for you, only the added shipping cost to La Douce France. In my case as of a certain threshold I still have to add some Swiss import duties. But even then.... When we were living in France, I used DLS for parts.
I must say they gave us excellent service, and cheap fast postage on everything, Nothing was too much trouble, I'm sure Dan will sort you out at Duckworths, But still well worth having their number. http://www.dls-uk.co.uk/ 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |
