Hi there,
Has anyone had experience with changing the park position of the passenger side wiper's? When the wipers are running the passenger side wiper falls below the seal and makes a loud noise. Here's a photo of where the wipers park. Pop the cap at the bottom of the wiper arm, undo the nut, take the arm off and reposition where you want it then put the nut back on

There is a bit of play but the whole mechanism was completely replaced about a year ago  1999 Defender 110

I did this all a few months back, cant remember the names of everything buuuuut:
If the nut on the stud is nice and snug and similarly the wiper is heard to remove then it's likely that the springy rack thingy and pinion/housing have worn. Reseating the wiper will just give the rack another opportunity to slip again (note how it currently stops once it has hit the lower window seal instead of putting further force on the rack) Opening the dash then flipping the springy rack thingy over in the motor/arm/spinny thingy assembly and also checking the plates on the wiper/pinion assemblies haven't spaced out over time may give you a another winters worth. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

That's exactly what it was. I still changed the park position so now it parks above the sill or in the middle of the window. Will need to scour the parts book and figure out what I need! 1999 Defender 110

If it parks in the middle too then I think the relayey-switchingy-mechanismy-abob is worn. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
