fondelli Member Since: 21 Jul 2017 Location: northern ireland Posts: 15	TD5 head dowels- 10p Hi- I have a 10 p engine that is about to have a head gasket replacement. I have read various bits on forums about using steel dowels on older engines. The workshop manual says no- other posts say yes. What is the consensus? I'm thinking that a steel dowel will be better, but some say they can cause head cracks?
