[For Sale] MATCHLESS G3LS 1955 ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED

Before I look at putting this on Carandclassics or Ebay I thought I would give a Def2 member an opportunity as I know quite a few members on here are into Bikes and Classics.

This is an unrestored/original 1955 Matchless G3LS Motorcycle that was handed to me many years ago on the understanding that if I ever got the confidence to ride again(I had a very bad skiing accident 15yrs ago and it was hit and miss whether to amputate above my knee!) that I would fully restore this bike and use it. Sadly, this bike has sat in the corner of my garage gathering dust. The furthest it has travelled in the last 15 years is approx. 20ft in order to take these photos. Now with an impending house sale it has forced my hand and this bike has now got to go.

The Fuel Tank is disconnected as well as the seat(all fixings are here) so I have not run it, but it all moves quite freely and you can hear and feel good compression when you turn the engine over(slowly by hand). The battery is the original, but it is definitely dead and so needs a replacement. Considering it hasn't moved in 15years I was quite shocked that everything moved so freely without any worrying noises or binding, but then they knew how to make proper bikes back then.

I am looking for £ 3,000.00 ovno for this bike and will donate 10% of sale value to Martin for hosting this wonderful site.

Please Note: This Bike has been in storage for the last 15years and so should be fully checked over with a good thorough service before intending to ride. It is bought as seen with no warranty given or implied.

Many thanks. It is such a shame to let it go, but I can’t see myself getting around to restore it even though it would only need a minor restore. A good polish would probably do!! But don’t ever see me getting the confidence in my knee holding out in an emergency if it ever arose.
