Installing BBUS into TD5
I'm about to fit a BBUS and extension loom into my 2005 Td5 Defender. Does anyone know if there is a process to install it or do you simply bolt it in, connect the plug and enable it via Nanocom?

Thanks, Harry 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

I don't think you even need to enable it, just bolt it in and plug it in. Td5 should have the correct harness for a standard installation unlike the Tdci which doesn't.

Sorry for asking, but what is a BBUS?

Greetings,

Thank you Blackwolf, I'll have a go later on. Once fitted is there a way to test that its working? Looking at the wiring it seems that unplugging it will cause it to sound? 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

Two tests are worthwhile:

1. Open the drivers window, then lock the car with the fob and wait for the alarm to arm. Then reach in and unlokc and open the door, the alarm shoudl sound and the BBUS should be heard.

2. Disconnect the battery (but allow several minutes after stopping the engine before you do so to make sure that the alarm is armed), the BBUS should sound.
