Ex utility Puma 90.
Purchased this 2008 90 from work who were disposing of it,

120,000 miles, chassis and bulkhead perfect, bodywork rather creased and dinged in places as to be expected from a proper working defender. Came fully kitted out with drawers, lockers, roof rack and equipment carrieries. I paid just over £5000 for it including vat, which wouldn't get me a rotten tdi on eBay nowadays.

Needed a few jobs doing, changed the idler and tensioner bearing and new belt solved the squeaks from the engine. New shifter assembly and tightened up the loose shifter yoke on the selector rail means gears can now be selected instead of guessed. Swapped worn halfshafts for 300tdi ones removed most of the backlash, but will still need to fit an Ashcroft intermediate shaft kit soon as there's the usual gearbox backlash.

Roof was crumpled from being used as a work platform and full of holes from fixings so fitted a new take off roof and headlining I picked up for couple of hundred quid from a soft top conversion - its Fuji white instead of the older white but not too fussed at present. Luckily the usually vulnerable van sides are the only panels to survive without any damage - they are immaculate as it was fully lined out inside.

Fitted a rear screen with brake light and wiper as it had neither - just an alloy panel instead of glass.

Had to swap out the HD rear springs for a pair of standard as now devoid of all kit it banged and crashed over bumps.

Ditched the 8 spokes for a set of used sawtooths and Insas for its intended future use, added a used genuine snorkel, and had an old steering guard, had steering arms and diff guards left over from a previous 90.

Recovered the vinyl seats with a set of used but good mondus cloth covers and foams, fitted a used XS steering wheel and treated it to some take off seatbox and floor mats.

Total cost so far including purchase is just over £6k, which I'm pretty pleased with!

WPD;

I’ve used the 62 plate one in your photo quite bit, in fact I’ve been parked next to it all this week. It’s the only 90 I’ve seen with hydraulic winch on, (it was retrofitted to it) although it has a smaller drum than the winches on the 110s.
