My thoughts on the market and prices,

Diesel vehicle sales are down 30% throughout the industry on average.
The viability of running an older diesel in the long term is looking uncertain. City pollution and congestion charges will hit these vehicles hardest.
The country is going through a massive upheaval (the B word) and the economy isn't doing great.
People are now thinking twice before buying.

An average, basic spec 2004 90 HT is probably worth around £10K
No other 14 year old commercial van would command that price.

Defender prices have been inflated (overvalued?) since the end of production was announced.
The vehicles that sell at top prices are the right spec and colour with a good history. Station wagons, XS spec and metallic paint, full service history.

Bolting on some shiney bits to personal taste will not increase the value of the base vehicle.

It is a nice 90, good luck with selling it.

Decision made, if she doesn't sell by the end of June, I'm returning back to OEM
Sells the modifications I can live without (keeping the Startech) and then keeping her as a toy

Dealers have offered £12K as a straight buy in

Anyone got a Triumph Tiger going? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

If a dealer has genuinely offered £12k for it I would bite their hand off and take it. The mods are worth nothing to anyone but you unfortunately and it will sell easier standard. If you want to test the market stick it on eBay this is where genuine buyers with cash will let you know what it's worth

As I have not had a single call in the month she's been on eBay and Autotrader - have I got the value wrong?
Thought £16K was reasonable as she is

Looking at removing the Bowler bits and Headlights to release £2K - then relisting at £14K
That fails steering wheel and wheel carrier to get her to £13K

Any thoughts?

I sold my 2007 110 2.5 fully camper spec dormobiel last year and only got £15000 for it - it had a heap of extras and in good condition ... so maybe a little optimistic for a 90 TD5 .. to be honest the parts dont equate to the overall price so if you have the ability to sell them off the vehicle you may do better ... Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold
