Hi By chance I have just come back from Northern Spain it's got to be a Defender the roads are crying out for that easy arm out of the window driving style that only Land Rovers can offer, theirs no rush ,it can get wet and has a air of the Swiss Alps , 25 miles from Santander port you start to see the real Spain ,green and lush ,winding roads ,lakes and small hamlets.Good luck and wish I was there.

We came to Spain in SWMBOs 90 Soft Top to do the Pyrenees and are now in Southern Andalusia. Fantastic off road drives over the tracks and lanes up there and down here, never seeing another vehicle all day. But I wish we'd taken my 110, far more practical. But we enjoyed it so much that a RTT for the 110 is on the shopping list for next year 😎 there are just so many places you can wild camp.
A Z3, however, would be great for all those long empty motorways built at EU expense! So I suppose it depends what sort of trip you want, motorway cruising or Defender bimbling? 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

Hmmm......difficult choice! Both vehicles will be great in different ways.
I imagine we will be cruising rather than taking advantage of the empty roads, otherwise l will be in trouble from the missus at every bend, or if there is a drop at the side of the road. |

It's looking like the Defender.
Perfect adventure vehicle, somehow makes you feel at ease when driving unfamiliar roads. l have always liked the Discovery 3/4 but even my local Indy who sell them put me off, the bills will bankrupt you they said. |
