13 Pin Socket Wiring
Looking at buying a 63 plate 110USW that I would need to fit a 13 pin socket for towing a caravan. I am convinced I have read somewhere that post 2012 Puma's have a plug under a rear wheel arch where a 13 pin socket loom can be plugged into thereby saving various connections into vehicle. Is this correct? Discovery 4 HSE

Yes, they do and so does 2007 on.

The 13 pin does have some extra wiring to add though as well IIRC.
But the general harness is taken from that plug.

There is a plastic section up in there for protection and it is behind there. Thumbs Up Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I bought the genuine LR loom off fleaBay for a reasonable price.

This link has the instructions for the genuine LR part.

I use mine mostly to keep the battery topped up Thumbs Up

Genuine LR loom's aren't that much from LR dealers. Not far off the after market kits really.

Plug behind the panel in the rear wheel arch for most functions, then If i recall correctly there are two wires you have to run through to the batter, basically for the battery charging and permanent live in the trailer socket. There is a relay goes in the battery box and then a wire from this to an ignition live on the dash (to switch the relay for the ignition live at the socket) Still an easy DIY job.

Additional to this, I did it in less than two hours with genuine LR loom for 105 (ebay). Remove old 7 pin and connect new one to same connector. Run the small longer loom as per the instructions to the passenger seat box. Mount one relay, connect the ground wire, and connect the +ve wire. The hardest part is running the green/white wire from the passenger seat box to behind the dashboard to connect to the fog light switch (ACC).

Easy job by even the most ham-fisted owner. My 10th Land Rover, but my first Defender.

You say that but I can't even find the panel in the wheel arch. Laughing
