how good is this book? I am toying with the idea of getting hold of the workshop manuals rather than the Haynes. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

This one isn't really comparable with a workshop manual as its' emphasis is on restoration. Haynes produce a separate manual which is a 'how to' for maintenance tasks and I think it's fair to say that both it and the official workshop manual have their uses. The latter is very detailed but assumes a certain level of knowledge whilst the Haynes is very definitely aimed at the home mechanic. Darren
