Defender upgrades hinges no doubt are identical to mine. Pretty sure all the companies selling these source from one and the same German manufacturer.
I hear what you say there Suli, but still don’t understand why any type of side door hinge, which is installed on the forward end of the door, can not work with Masai glass which as far as I know sits behind the doors at the rear quarter side and at the rear of the truck. Maybe you are thinking of the Safari door hinges, not the side doors?

Probably easier for me to just order new ones by the time I need them. Wink

Ericv my apologises I am referring to the hinges for the rear door and if I fit the greasable front ones the back would look odd, but if I do Optimill then they look correct alround Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90

Is the glass too close to reach the nipple? Smile

The standard safari door hinges look completely different to the standard side door hinges anyway. So I don't think it'll make much difference.

Think they make them for the rear too, look different, but because of our glass, issue is getting to the grease nipple.

still get 8 out of 11 (4 out of 7 on a 90) greasable if the side ones are changed though.

I believe the German version I bought here, in the U.K. distributed by Defender Upgrades, only exists for the side doors, not for the safari door. And indeed, there is not much common between the looks of genuine side door and safari door hinges, so just replacing the side door hinges for these good looking high quality nippled ones was just perfect. While a few of my genuine side door hinges had rusty pins, my almost 10 year young safari door hinges are just like new. So at present these new side door hinges are just what the doctor ordered. Thumbs Up

Is it it a worthwhile investment? Can you recommend it?

I need to respray my 110 and dont see the point in forking out for a set of genuine ones to be resprayed and for them to then rust in the not too distant future.

Cheers

You'll probably need to wait between five and ten years to get a useful review Laughing Darren

True... but sometimes you can get an idea on quality long before it craps out.

Blue box stuff rarely feels good when its fitted!

Thanks for your feedback.
In my opinion its just a shame they have the kinked grease nipple on the top hinge. Would be nice if they had found a way around that.

Anyway I need to convince myself I need to sink £££ into a car set of them.

The kinked grease nipples obviously are there for a good reason. Personally I love the looks of those.
The option for not needing kinked grease nipples on the top hinges is to get a Series I. Laughing
