Curious if someone could give me a ball park value if you were to come across the following:
2009 110 station wagon 7 seater galv. frame, other than that, basic model, no carpet, just rubber mats very low miles (under 10,000) If that were to appear in the market place in the UK/Europe, what would a guess at a value be? My first question would be why a very recent Defender of 2009, and with such limited mileage, needed to get a galvanized chassis in the first place. Doesn't click.

Lots of bull floating around here in Oz about the fantastic prices being got for used Defenders. Total crap. I've got a 2010 for sale, great condition, over serviced and all mods done like axles, driven parts etc. changed to ensure it keeps going. Very weak response although 2 very well regarded independents reckon it's very well priced.
I'm now actually going to flog the Cooks (wife) shopping trolley Camry and return the Defender to what it does best which is take us on our off road trips. The D4 can now be the shopping vehicle. AlanH. |

"Total Crap"?..don't know about the prices that are actually being achieved, and for sure, there are some silly "asks" around aren't there? However, there are some extraordinary prices being achieved for good, low K, as new Defenders. A friend of mine sold his Defender 90 for $68K, netting him a nice little earn. To achieve these prices, the vehicle has to be low k, full history, original & "as new", but there are buyers around for vehicles in this category, simply because,...ya can't buy a new one! Pickles. |

Round here good tdci 110 SW's sell for £20,000+ if under 50,000 miles.
Personally l hope that values come down, even though l own one. |

I've no doubt good prices are occasionally got but suspect they're few and far between. "As new and full history"? I suspect that means dealer servicing but personally I'd rather one that'd been looked after by a reasonable knowledgeable owner than one supposedly cared for by the stealer.
But how do you tell? Just general appearance and drivability I suppose. No way would I ever rely on a car salesmans assurances of a vehicle being "100 point checked etc".
