Split Charge Earth Connection
I'm installing a Blue Sea 7622 VSR in the battery box of our 110 and I'm wondering about how best to connect my negative terminals. The wiring diagram shows it using a bus bar

Am I correct in thinking this setup is no different to just bridging the negative terminals on the two batteries with an earth strap (i've got some spare 35mm battery cable and terminals) so the standard defender main earth lead on the starter battery negative then a cable connecting that to the negative of the 2nd battery. Both batteries are Varta LFD90's if that makes any difference

Essentially yes, what you're suggesting will achieve the same thing. I haven't done the sums but the only thing to be wary of is that the original earth cable is of sufficient size to cope with both batteries under load at the same time. Darren

Yes I believe I used the same set up from the mobile centre in my case all with 50mm cable. However I made up an additional earth lead in the same too the chassis. I purchased a cheap hydraulic crimper it was an easy belt and braces job due to as you mentioned the potential of the extra equipment!👍
