Q421 Oil Pump Failure
Hi there, I have just purchased my 2.2 Defender XS (2012) and notice that the Q421 recall was not actioned on the car by the previous owner. The car has not been used for a while, so maybe that's why.

Anyway, Speaking with SAndy Shaw in Global, he has told me that the recall finsihed in May but if I ask nicely, I may get this sorted under goodwill.

Could you therefore look at what can be done to resolve this please. My nearest dealer is Harwoods Pulborough and they have seen the car. I'm going to be booking it in there for a full service, so would be great to get this outstanding field service action done at the same time.

The Vin is in the affected range

Many thanks

Same story here. 2012 with VIN in the range. 2 local dealers tell me the work doesn't need to be done, but I'm convinced that's because the campaign is no longer live on TOPIx or the dealer system.

Can't get a solid answer from anyone if the work is actually needed or not. CRC@Landrover told me it would be out of my own pocket though.

Does anyone know if there is a way to inspect the vehicle to see if the work has been completed? Any visual clues? I'm guessing not, as it's all internal.

Cheers
Dobby

Not that I can tell. It's been regularly waxoiled, so everything looks the same under there.
