Thanks Ian, sent you a PM.

Thanks Dean, looked at those, but it looks like they're designed to be fitted at the EGR valve and not the exhaust manifold.

Hi proloForêt

If the plate is fitted at the EGR valve, the EGR cooler could possibly get blocked with soot and would need cleaned if the EGR was to be made operational again.

Blanking the entry to the EGR cooler prevents the cooler from getting blocked.

Thank you to explain this. OK this seem to me a good idea to me. Is the cooler attached to the exhaust so the soot now continue it exit out that way instead?
I believe mine has at egr valve but is this shape plate. My egr is switched off by a remap from Alive but sometimes on switch off I hear the chuggy-chuggy noise.

Hi proloForêt

No, the EGR cooler is redundant when blanked and the EGR is disabled.
All the engine combustion gases now exit through the turbocharger into the exhaust. Very Happy

Item Part Number Description
1 - Turbocharger assembly
2 - Exhaust manifold
3 - EGR cooler

The EGR system directs exhaust gases into the inlet manifold to be used in the combustion process. The principal effect of this is to reduce combustion temperatures, which in turn reduces Nitrous Oxide (NOx) emissions.
