Gearbox issues again

In my quest to try and solve what sounds like gearbox / drivetrain chatter (more noticable under load and when coasting downhill and also on motorway every 10 mins or so) I`ve heard of another possible solution which I thought I`d ask to see if anyone had any views about...

We`ve tried adjusting the handbrake and sorted the clutch, but one dealership suggests removing the anti-rattle springs located in the top of the handrbrake housing (thats as far my technical skill goes !) . Apparently it`s worked on a few other similarly ill defenders. I believe it was an issue on a previous model Disco so they got rid of the springs but for some reason have reinstalled them on the new Defender box

Any insight ????

2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS DCPU Stornoway Grey

I had the same transmission chatter a few times the other week when returning from the Peterborough show when slowing down on the motorway. It`s at the stealers today with a long list of fixes for them to do, and the chatter is one of them

interesting reading

Was browsing another forum and found intersting reading some other explanations for chatter from the clutch.
possible the Puma has an upgraded clutch and may explain the chatter etc in our drive trains.

The puma clutch is NOT a dual mass flywheel!

I was actually referring to the single mass flywheel being discussed which the second or third post listed as having chattering noise at tick over.
This is the problem that I noted before they replaced my complete clutch assembly.
I thought maybe the puma had changed from the TD5 dual mass flywheel to the one mentioned as the upgrade but slightly noisier.
My upgrade helped a bit but I still have a noise in 1'st low at idle speed up a slight hill.
I guess I wait till something fails before they get it right.
