The bmw 335d twin power turbo needs vacuum lines to operate...bummer...Would have been a nice idea, but for the money its 200gbp above the x5 3.0d turbo.

Will scan fleabay for the best deal on the GTB2260V, best upgrade is its a ball bearing, and with a billet compressor wheel it aught to scream, will also score the actuator bracket from darksidedevelopment and have my fab guys piece together a bad ass header for the turbo. The modular stainless one on fleabay needs more work on its finish...The holes didnt quite line up and the inner parts need a good polishin to get rid of all the bottle necks and sharp edges.

Now lets talk ecu flashers, what brands work and what are their limitations

Definitely wouldn't be going twin turbo,..too complicated, too much to go wrong.
Might be OK in its original vehicle/installation etc, but to put it on another vehicle, no way.

have you looked at the BMW123 d twin set up it will be smaller than the 335d but they put out 205 bhp standard and much more tuned so should pump enough air. The engines have cam chain issues and have been around since 2007 so second hand parts are available? DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Where i live diesels are not that popular.

Its hard enough findin parts for a Mack truck. Let alone a merc diesel engine assembly...

Is it plug and play? As in it will bolt right up to the r380.

Another option is to drop in a bmw 35d engine with engine harness and be done with it...

So i scored a deal on the twin turbo setup. And the small turbo is a VNT turbo.

I will buy the Billet compressor wheels once i get them in my hands, and then buy three electronic boost controllers.

One will control the Small turbo for pressure, the second will control the compressor and turbo bypass, and the third will control the large turbo wastegate as not to over boost the engine. All via vacuum, so minimal changes to what was originally there. The VNT will be vacuum controlled and not electronic. This is to help keep everything as simple as possible...

What information did you use to match the correct turbo sizes to the TD5 engine?

I found an engine displacemt slightly larger than ours and bought the whole kit.

I may still get the 2260vnt turbo. Less work and similar results...
