arse covering imo..

don't diesels only have to pass the smoke test anyway? Especially considering TD5's up to 2002 didn't have cat's could easily claim if even stopped by vosa that its a late registered 2002 in theory?

Its all about who ya know for MOT's anyway Razz

The MOT includes a visual check that a CAT is fitted if the vehicle should have one. Their computer will know whether a particular vehicle should have one or not, so trying to claim that it's an early one won't work. Unless you're suggesting that you can get a bent MOT, of course.

Think I might weld a shell to the decat in that case for what little time is involved.

General question

Are all the replacement gaskets I'll need the same type? If decatting and replacing centre silencer for straight through?

I was going to also buy some replacement studs and nuts, can anybody point me in the right direction? All the ones I come across are for the manifold? Or is it just a nut and bolt set for the gaskets connections?
