Black smoke and gas pedal delay
Hi!

My -07 puma has a delay on gas pedal and smokes little (black) when accelerate.
EGR changed last week but that does't solve problem.
When I removed egr connector car works fine.
MIL light is on now.
Local LR service reset MIL light and found no error codes.
80000km on clock. My car is not remapped. Yet.
What next?

I'm no expert but could it be a split or disconnected turbo hose?

I've been having the same problem. There are no fault codes showing probably because electronically the system is fine, in that the signals are being sent to the egr but what happens after that, is maybe not correct.

If you have replaced the egr then there may be a break in the pipe (it's metal from memory) which is after the egr itself.

Ive fitted an egr blanking plate on mine but haven't tried it yet as I decided to change a couple of ball joints and do some other jobs while I was as it. This will put the warning light on but have the kit to reset it.

The blanking kits are only a few quid and can eliminate any issues after the egr.

If you can wait a week or so let me put mine back together I'll let you know how I get on!

Thank you.
I'll wait.

Can I unplug MAF sensor to test its condition?

I drove a little longer testdrive and it smokes again. Not so much but still smokes when accelerating.
