Agree I can never get tired of looking at photos of people restoring Land Rovers. In fact and though I hate this type of quote it is one of my ‘guilty pleasures’, plus it mystifies the wife who has never understood why people do such things Laughing For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I kept her on the trailer to give better access to chassis. I soaked everything in gt85 last night. Ed China makes it look so easy undoing rusty fixings.
I've steamed off the chassis and apart from surface corrosion all looks good.

Seats out to enable them to be cleaned together with carpets. Carpet on drivers side seat box is soaked in oil. Open up the seat box and you'd think a pint of oil had been spilt in there. How much can run down the loom????.
At some point a new ecu has been fitted.

The green leather has remained in pretty good condition. The seats are 100% leather - not like modern seats which are just faced with leather. Gave them a clean and moisturise.

I think they are the same as on the Japanese 50th but with chequer plate spanning the tubes instead of the plastic covers.

As she stood at the end of today.
Should I go for a one piece rear door or the old style to keep original?

She needs paint in various places but I'm hoping to machine Polish with g3 this week. The roof is very flat so hoping to get some shine back.

Great find, well done Thumbs Up

BTW, Is your sore back from the 400 mile drive in your Defender, or another war wound!

Do you have extension seat rails, standard seats?

Standard XS seats with mud rails. 400+ miles in a defender isn't great.
