Heated Seat Problem!
I recently bought a heated seat wiring kit from FCX for my 2005 Land Rover Defender 110 Td5 Station Wagon.

It has been fitted today by a professional, long serving auto-electrician.

The problem is that when the seats are switched on only the heater in the seat base on the passenger side warms up. The others stay cold.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I should do please? My seats are the standard leather outer with fabric centres.

I presume that there are 2 heating pads in each seat - one in the base and one in the back? 2005 Defender 110 Td5 Special Vehicles Station Wagon Zambezi Silver With Black Roof And Black Wheel Arches/Eyebrows.

I'm afraid I think either the heater element or the install is faulty.
Take it back and ask the fitter whether it worked when he tested it...

The fitter was a mobile auto electrician who has been in the trade for more than 40 years and who has done lots of work for me. He thoroughly tested his wiring and we also checked with the loom manufacturer and it's fine.

It must be the heating pads at fault so I think I'll need to buy a set. The problem is fitting them! I'm useless at d-i-y and reupholstery is for me as bad as it gets!

Is there an idiot guide somewhere on the internet? 2005 Defender 110 Td5 Special Vehicles Station Wagon Zambezi Silver With Black Roof And Black Wheel Arches/Eyebrows.

It's not too difficult, I've done it.

Take the whole seat out and take it indoors to do, you'll then find it much easier.

Watch the video, it's a piece of p155 to fit the heater pads.. Mine went pop before xmas, and even with changing a split seat back foam core, it only took about 45 mins per seat.. ... ,-------,
