Boab Braai all the way. I'v had all manner of BBQ's. This one really is the business. See Brendan, he stocks 2 sizes as I recall. I opted for the smaller size. Does the whole family just fine.

Or - If you ever fancied a Series 2a, now's your chance. Simply remove the front grill & place over two bricks - sorted.

Another option that might be worth considering: http://www.expedition-equipment.com/produc...-grill-bbq I don't have one but it looks interesting.

Recently purchased a Boab Brai (from 4x4 Overland) and can confirm that it's a great little BBQ.

Heavy as hell, but an ingenious use of space and all packs away nicely into the bag.

I also bought a few of the accessories (the pot stand and log burner grid), for every eventuality!

Would highly recommend!

Anyone recommend any pots / pans suitable for camping etc (for use on the Brai)?

We got one of these indian fire bowls primarily for the garden but I reckon it will strap to the spare wheel just nicely for camping

maybe one of these?

I appreciate they are very expensive... but they are also fantastic!
I would recommend the large option. Good for 6 people eating.
Fold down very small... well... watch the video and you will understand!

€424 !! Shocked

Looks like an alright thing but it doesn't look anywhere near worth that much money. That's mental!

its very very well built. Not at all flimsy. All stainless steel and loads of options for grills or hot plates etc.

Snow Peak are a Japanese company, selling to the Australians, who import them into Czech Republic where they then get sent out across Europe.

There is a lot of transport and borders being crossed and customs will want their sniff at every crossing.

Maybe one of our site sponsors could start distributing Snow Peak products. All their stuff is excellent quality. I have a few bits and have got my hands on a fair amount of it in the States and Oz. All top quality.

It's actually 1.5 mm thick chrome coated steel and not stainless. These bad boys are can be got for around $160 US Dollars. Maybe less, that's just a very quick google.

I might look in to what it would cost to get one from the US but there's no hope of me paying €424 for a $160 item.

FWIW I went bushpig http://www.bush-pig.co.uk/

I bought the bushpig and cried as I bought the bag as well but it has been ell worth it. The grill has rusted - really it needs a stainless one though I note earlier comments and might have a go as spraying it.

I also bought a Bushpig and we're very pleased with it. The original ones were painted mild steel with a mild steel grill and were prone to rust, we have one of the later ones which are enamel coated with an optional stainless grill. The coating makes it easy to clean and ours is still like new. They come with short legs which make it a perfect height for a fire pit but a bit too low for cooking. They made and demo'd a set of longer legs to put it at a perfect cooking height, we bought the demo set but i can't see them on the website so we may have the only set.

I wondered about this as well, the standard size seems to have disappeared from Brendan’s site and there is no listing on the Boab website. Perhaps Brendan will be along to enlighten us. 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.
