Roadtrip!
Hi all,

Early stages of planning but will be based in / around Morzine area this summer for a month or so and looking to do a few tours East into Switzerland and / or down into Northern Italy.

Looking for recommendations of places to see and stay with campsites ideally non commercial but where we can park up next to the tent (for awning purposes) and that will accept dogs!

Any recommendations / info gratefuly received!

cheers!

We did a similar trip last year in the 110 with a ground tent and awning albeit coming down from Northern France and looping back through Southern France.

There's some lovely camp sites on the Swiss side of the Alps and the scenery is stunning, happy to dig out the names of where we stayed if that helps? One of the highlights was going up the Via Umbrail in Switzerland, crossing over the top of the Alps and coming down the Stelvio Pass in Italy.

Our route then took us to Verona, Lake Garda/Como/Majiore before heading West to France and the Gorge du Verdon. The campsites in Northern Italy were unfortunately a little commercialised and mainly full of German campervans although I'm sure there are better ones available, we didn't do much research beforehand Embarassed

Great thank you - any info you have please.

More than likely will just head direct to Morzine area on motorways make a base camp then head off again.

I'm a bit of an anti social Censored so the more remote the better!
