I am a fan of good old White Spirit for the removal of sticky, gluey stuff. In fact, I removed some gaffer tape residue with it only this Sunday, although the tape had only been on a week in this case.

Try on an inconspicuous area first, it's usually ok on most things, but you never know. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Autoglym Tar remover works well for most adhesive residues. https://www.autoglym.com/intensive-tar-remover

Agree with above - Autoglym intensive tar remover is highly rated or if you need something stronger try paint thinners (be careful with it though).

Another "citrus" label remover that works well and is easy to obtain.

Ok thanks for all the options. So far wd40 nothing. Carplan brake cleaner nothing. Heating it as much as I dare and a scouring pad in hot soap water, best so far for the actual dirt but marginal on the residue. I'm in town later so will have a look at getting some of the other things mentioned. Thanks. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

All this talk of solvents in the cab it would now be suitable to throw a match in and then go back to the best small lorry in the world. Job done.
All meant in jest Lambert.
Go to your local pvc window suppliers and get a bottle of solvent - it works.

If you do go down the route of first suggestion then there is a lovely looking truck cab 300 tdi on carandclassic.co.uk. Local to you as well.

As an aesthetic thing a 90 pickup one of the most agreeable things ever to look at. But I don't need to own one to look at it. Cool Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
