Yellow Peril?
Parade of yellow cars pass through village in support of Vauxhall owner - The Sun

Heard about this chap recently, badly treated in my opinion. Anyone on here in a (yellow) defender lend a hand? Rolling with laughter

Good for them. I hope this puts a few noses out of joint.

I owned a yellow Fiesta when I started driving which was affectionately called the lemon. I would have been there for support. I would imagine the Lemon is sadly been recycled into a can of baked beans or something.

There was an article recently on our local news about vans being banned from being parked in new housing estates.

I find all this kind of thing rather distasteful. It's not as if owning a yellow car is illegal.

Good on 'em I say, I hope the scum that defaced his car realise how ridiculous their behaviour was. I reckon the chap should have bought the lime green one like he said he was going to. Or paint his house yellow in protest Whistle

A bit far away for me to turn up with my yellow 90. There was a famous yellow house in Greenock that was in a preservation area and the council wanted it painted a more 'compliant' colour. Eventually after a couple of years the owners were forced to paint it white - which sticks out more than the yellow - at a cost of several thousands of pounds. There was a small demonstration where people turned up in yellow to show support for the owners choice, but the council 'won' in the end. The yellow house had become a bit of a landmark and local tourist attraction, but no more.

Funny - I get more waves / smiles from people in these parts thanks in part to the general yellow-ness of Daphne, especially from the kids. I think it cheers folk up a bit to see something a bit different from the usual procession of Audis / Beemers here in Aberdeenshire :whistle.

It's standard in conservation areas or other 'significant' areas for there to be restrictions on house colour etc. I was brought up in Llandudno. The hotels there could only be painted in one of 5 or 6 colours. It's no different to planning restrictions.
The bloke with the yellow car has been trundling along for years. The village gets loads of coach trips that do no more than take pictures, cause pollution, then move on. The presence of his car was spoiling their photos.
Personally, I'd want to stop the coach trips more than moving a yellow car, but I guess different things bother different people.
