Good one HD. I'm assuming prices including shipping etc are +10% duty and 20% VAT so those near Greeni actually aren't badly priced in comparison Question

Car man you are correct - duty and vat needs to be paid prior to even seeing any vehicle you import. Prices in Japan now make importing prohibitive. Any imported 50th already here is a good price at £25k ish.

I know little of these 50th Defenders but what is the difference as they left the factory between a Japanese one and a GB one. I assume the speedo but I cant think what else may be different.

They have KM speedos as you mentioned, they were available in a number of different colours instead of the Atlantis blue of the UK ones, they didn't have the chrome diff lock lever and window winder handles and didn't have the same wheels. There may be other minor changes Thumbs Up

This one's mine Mr. Green

Thanks Ian. They do look a nice thing always miss the V8 which I had in my 1971 RR. I assume fuel consumption averages around 18 mpg?

Great photo Jeremy, it has just reminded me that the non UK ones didn't have chequer plate as standard (thankfully Whistle )

defender9 It is a year next Friday that I bought mine from Jeremy (ginjez) and I have done 1500 miles in that time and averaged about 12-14mpg, but I certainly didn't buy it for its economy Laughing Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

I prefer the Jap version, I've never been a fan of the U.K. Colour, it's nice enough, but White is best!
