Yes friend of mine has fitted a TD5 full width intercooler to his 300tdi, standard rad though. So bit of work should fit!

A full size TD5 one is what 4x times bigger than the 300tdi one? Denser air, higher boost, more torque, less smoke

Sure but it's also thinner and the cooled air has to travel further through a hot engine bay. The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen.

What? A full size TD5 IC is covers the majority of the front grill and sits infront of thr rad. Its literally the first thing bar the grill to hit the air.

internally i dont believe there is much difference between volume of a tdi and puma/td5 intercooler. i looked at this a few years back.
with fitting the td5 inter you will need to rejigg pipework to bring it back across from drivers side to the inlet/turbo compared to std 300tdi Cheers James 110 XS Utility 130 Puma Station wagon/camper (in the making) 90 Puma Hardtop |

Also remember the Tdi Radiator has an oil cooler built into it which you will loose if you change to a Td5 Radiator.
If it was me I would fit a double thickness intercooler from someone like Allysport or bas tuning. I'm not convinced of the need though, a good running Tdi has enough power for most things Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

i think Mo means the pipework has further to go across a hot engine bay here rather than location of the IC wrt to the post below his. Cheers James 110 XS Utility 130 Puma Station wagon/camper (in the making) 90 Puma Hardtop |

It only crossed my mind & sure it could be done. I had a 300 tdi 110 years ago & that went very well for what it was & was standard Chris 2008 XS 110 2.4 Utility.
