New shocks?
Mine are starting to look pretty ropey now, i'm running standard height brit part HD springs.

I quite like the look of the Koni but im open to suggestion?

I'm a big fan of Koni shocks but, depending on what you're looking for, you could do a lot worse than fitting new standard ones. They're a good compromise that won't break the bank. Darren

Well, Koni's are gas filled and adjustable, so a much higher spec. This means they'll keep their performance longer if pressing on over rough terrain and can be tailored to suit more heavily laden vehicles, which is why I've used them in the past.

Standard shocks (Armstrong, or at least they used to be) are traditional oil filled and obviously have a fixed damping rate. If the vehicle were to be used seriously - hammering across a desert for hours on end, for example - then they'd eventually fade as they can't dissipate the heat build up as quickly. They're also about a third of the price of Koni's but they've been the standard weapon of choice by Land Rover for years so are tried and tested.

There are plenty of other options too, of course. Some swear by Bilsteins or Old Man Emu, for example.

It really depends on what you plan to use the vehicle for and your budget. Darren

I have Koni Heavy Tracks fitted and if I'm honest I'm yet to feel the difference but I am driving in England where the roads are reasonably good. Unless you're driving for miles on really rough roads then standard ones are probably fine. I only fitted mine because every time a part fails I like to replace it with a really good quality part.
This springs will make the most difference to how the truck rides. 2009 2.4TDCi XS Utility Wagon.

I'd never heard of them before but apparently Kayaba is one of the world's largest shock absorber manufacturer and it also has the largest market share of concrete mixer trucks Confused Darren
