Fitting checker plate
Hi, quick question, going to fit my checker plate to the bonnet. Should I fit a gasket membrane? Ta

Ideally yes, it's best practice.
I would have thought EPDM rubber would be ideal, mailable, UV resistant etc. (Not that it matters too much.)

I used some thin self adhesive closed cell foam.

It's far more important on a Puma with it's steel bonnet. But its still good practice on an older alloy bonnet, it'll also help with sound insulation

Closed cell foam would be okay too, so long as it doesn't take on any water. It should do. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

I think that's the definition of closed cell foam, open cell foam on the other hand is like a sponge.
