Anyone after a Sankey (or failing that a laugh)?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/world-war-2-styl...2335006438

Here's an ultra-rare opportunity to buy a "WORLD WAR 11 STYLE TRAILER" that the prospective seller found "RAPED" in a hangar! This spectacularly rare collectable had been in use as a "DEMOSTATION TOOL" and is in "TIP TOP CONDITION" with "NEW TYRES BREAKS ETC." Better still, it comes with a "HOME MADE TUBED CANAPÉ" but sadly the "ARIGANAL" cover was "TO FAR GONE".

It comes with a military "LOOP PULLING SYSTEM", which appears to consist of a ratchet strap, and the "HYDROLIC BREAK SYSTEM WORK GREAT NO BINDING AS IT WAS KEEPED ON CONCRETE",

The seller rates it highly: "IT WAS A GREAT FIND"

However all is not good, though, since the "BAD BIT ARE SOMEONE HAS CUT THE TRAILER PLUG OFF" and the "HAND BREAK HANDLE IS STICKING". Also "SOMEONE REVERSED INTO THE THE OFFSIDE REAR CUBERED DOOR" and"THE O/S REAR LENS HAS BROKEN.

But at least the "CUBERED" still works! Not many trailers can boast "CUBEREDS", especially "WORLD WAR 11" style trailers!

You are invited to email any questions you may have, and you may also "COME AND FIEW" but only if you are not a "MESSER".

It is one of the most remarkable listings I have seen for some time, but now the initial bid has been reduced from £2k or thereabouts to £750 it might not be a bad buy.

Would you believe that the spelling was even worse when the listing first appeared!

(Editted a few times to remove my own spelling mistakes and to uncorrect some quoted spellings!)

I think that that may be the "LOOP PULLING SYSTEM".

If I had a pound for every "break" and "brake" whoopsie on this Forum, I'd be driving a RR instead of a Defender...

My local pub has just changed hands and says "Biker's Welcome", biker's (or bikers'?) what? And don't get me started on garages that carry out MOT's or M.O.T.'s. Then again, I'm a pedant who would NOT put a full stop after Dr, Mr, Ltd etc.

Where's the Spelling Police when you need 'em?

Peter

How can it be described as TIP TOP CONDITION when the front corner is mullered? 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW

It does look in pretty good shape overall, I'd be tempted at £500 and if I had somewhere to store it! Based on the ratchet strap attachment system, I'd be less than convinced it's even his to sell!

That's so that people with hearing aids can read it more easily. Obvious, innit?

That's not just a corner, it's a "CUBERED"!

I would like to know more about "TUBED CANAPES", they might be tasty.

Yes it's battered but described in good condition, but the worst is the way he has attached it! To advertise it showing that means he probably towed it like that from where he purchased it, that is a scary thought. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

In all seriousness it's not a bad trailer, and the locker mods are quite clever. It could be turned into a great camping/expedition trailer.

This trailer has also turned up on another forum I participate in, the excellent Historic Military Vehicle Forum, www.hmvf.co.uk

On that forum a (highly literate) member reports the following dialogue with the seller:

Quote:
I had to ask the seller "do you think this trailor been used in d-Day some times ?"

Reply: "No mate it's more in the style of ww11 it's about 40-50 years old"

Oh dear ! Rolling with laughter
