Companies which specialise in 200 Tdi?
My 200 Tdi is down on power and could use a refresh (just about to pass 170K), are there any specialists which anyone can recommend for the 200 Tdi engine?

(For tuning and parts)

There are many garages in Shropshire that will be able to advise on sprucing up your 200tdi, I am afraid I have only ever serviced and modded my own 200s. Based on that I can say that the biggest improvements in performance came when I replaced the injectors, turbo (with increased boost) and tweaked the pump a little (but not much at all). As with all things modd'in you have to be sure the rest of the components are up to the task, if not you'll soon find out... weakest link...

A nicely tuned 200tdi is a superb vehicle to drive. I cannot wait to get mine on to a new chassis.

Thanks, where did you purchase the turbo/injectors and were they stock or aftermarket?

Hi Kit. I got my injectors from United Diesel https://www.uniteddiesel.co.uk/ super folks to deal with. Also lent me a slide hammer to extract the injectors properly too. All done via post.

The turbo was from Turbo Technics, again another top company to deal with.

Check the simple things too.. my 200 has been down on power and a bit reluctant to start.

Finally got round to having a look at it at the weekend and the timing was well out! All timed up properly and early indications are it is back to normal.

200tdi's are much simpler technology than later engines and don't really warrant specialists. Plus they're at least 25 years old. Darren

I don't think I explained myself very well, I was actually looking for an online supplier...etc who stock allot of 200 Tdi parts.

For instance I want to replace the air/water hoses with silicon items but I also want to replace the water pump, so it'd be great if I could get OEM and aftermarket stuff from the same place to avoid lots of P&P charges?

OHHHHHh
Ok yeah that's different.

I get 90% of my bits from LR Series http://www.lrseries.com/

if they don't have it then Britcar http://www.brit-car.co.uk/

For engine specific bits I use Turner engineering http://turner-engineering.co.uk/

For anything obscure or unusual then PA Blanchard may have it https://www.pablanchard.co.uk/

Otherwise forum post usually points me in the right direction

Best of luck! Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
