Defender ABS rear brake tone ring
Hi,

I'll soon be replacing rear brake discs on my TD5 Xtreme Defender which is ABS equipped.

I have noted that the ABS rear tone rings appear to be fastened by some small nyloc nuts to the inner part of the discs near where the discs are bolted to the hubs.

My question is; does this limit in any way the choice of replacement discs? Am I forced to use genuine discs, or are there locally available parts (eg. DBA) available which incorporate the holes for the tone ring fasteners. It is rather hard to tell looking at websites, as they don't seem to refer to ABS equipped Defenders.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Lionel

The ABS ring should unbolt and with quality replacement discs will have the holes in them to allow you to bolt the rings back in. SDB000330 if you google it you will see various discs with the correct holes. IMHO if your not sure ask the manufacturer before shelling out on your hard earned Wonga.
