Brought a 90 to rebuild
Brought this yesterday. Been looking on & off for a project for a while when a local guy I know has a yard full of land rovers offered me this 1985 90. Been off the road a few years but a good blank one to rebuild. Got a 2.5 Diesel which I will replace with a 300 tdi. The chassis is very rusty & needs some welding etc but what do expect for the age. Will be torn apart & everything overhauled & painted etc. Will take few years between all the other projects !! . It was only fair I recovered it with the 110 Cool

Looks great. Always said to myself I wanted to rebuild a Land rover but could never decide on which model. This is my 1st 90. on my 3rd 110.

Did think about V8 but if it ends up as a daily drive then it will hurt Laughing . Keep getting ideas about what to do but as I read up on fellow 90 restorations it will get me going Cool Chris

Early Ninetys in original condition are becoming more and more collectable, as they become increasingly scarce due to rotting, wearing out and being "updated".

Restoring to original is more challenging (and rewarding?) than just bolting new or later bits on.

But it's your vehicle......

Some one else said restore to standard etc. Yes I have also been thinking the same Confused

If I did it will still need to come apart to overhaul the chassis etc.

I did think that a good polish etc will bring the paint up also. The bulk head has only a small hole to attend to

We were at Gaydon yesterday looking arround when the boss lady started asking about colours etc Shocked

I have not even heard this thing run yet & she wants to paint it Very Happy

The plan it to put a battery on it next week end & see. It was running few months ago so we will see.

Will get better pictures also of her internals Cool Chris
