Terrafirma Light Load suspesion Kit defender 110
Hi,
I have just ordered terrafirma light load suspension kit with 2' lift. TF recommends for the 110 defenders with lightly laden vehicles, those vehicles carrying no additional equipment or load and will give approximately 2"" (50mm) of lift. But mine is fitted with winch bumper with steel rope 12000lbs ironman winch. My main concern is the comfort and not bothered about the lift. I found many of them here have fitted the TF medium load and heavy load kits and could not find anybody who has fitted with light load TF kit part no TF206 and would love to hear there feedback if fitted.

I do not carry heavy loads and my only extras are winch bumper with steel winch, snorkel and fog lamps.

Would this kit be able to keep my car comfortable and stable?

Cheers.

Yes. Be sure to remove the suspension cups on the rear axle mounts or your shocks will only last a few miles

Hi Bankz5152,
Could you let me know where the suspension cups are located? Also please let me know why you have to remove them. Cheers.

If you dont the shocks will snap off at the studs, many people either forget or dont then blame TF for a bad product when they didnt fit correctly.....

Scroll down a few pics youll see my work whenI did my suspenion.

Hi Bankz5152,
Well that was a very helpful. Wow that's was a super td5 after all upgrades.

I noticed you had only 1"lift with medium load TF kit assuming you didn't have a Winch fitted. Mine have a Winch bumper with steel roped Winch fitted with steel a bar + fog lights. Now I am afraid when mine fitted with TF light load suspension kit, would front sit too low?
Thanks again.

Thanks Very Happy Should sit around standard height, if not buy some medium load springs, pretty cheap

Make sure you buy new turret securing rings as well as you will sheer at least half the bolts on there now!

Also the paint on the TF springs is pretty poor, I would suggest spraying them with Plastidip/Rustoleum the rubber based paints keep them looking fresher for longer/

Hi. Thought I should give you all a feedback after fitting terrafirma light weight suspension kit in my defender 110.
Ride is much smooth and comfortable now. My main reason to replace with TF was due to stiffness with my iron man shocks fitted about one and half years ago with front iron man springs with rear puma SW springs. My conclusion is that iron man setup may be suitable for defenders with fully loaded over landing versions but definitely not for mine which I don't carry extra load often. Also I found the iron man shocks were much stiffer than the TF shocks.

The most difficult task during the replacement was to remove the rear axle bottom shock mount cups. Had to spend about 1 hour to separate from the mount by hammering.

Special thanks to Bankz5152 for his advice on fitting.

Pics didnt load!

Happy to help! I've seen so many people fit them wrong then blame TF for their own poor fitting!

Glad you enjoy the ride, felt the same on my old 90!
