Turner Engineering may be your best bet to get replaced or reconned? If it didn't shoot a rod or anything?

Most sensible option is another 300tdi from a disco I would say.

Sorry to hear this, what killed it? Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

It's undergoing an exploratory examination any minute. But it didn't sound good. Just have to see over the next few days!

It could have been the cam belt, a failed cam belt is survivable for a 300 tdi if you're lucky Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

We had the cam belt snap on a 300tdi whilst travelling in Lane 2 of the M25 at 6pm one weekday evening with a 25 foot boat on the back. That was fun getting over to the hard shoulder. The engine survived though - just needed some new push rods as I think they are deliberately sacrificial to save the engine. (though I could be wrong on the last part - usually am, so the other half tells me). Let's hope it's as simple as that. Thumbs Up

Well it's back on the road and running, this engine seems to be running a little on the hot side not into the red but close to it, otherwise seems all ok.
