Anyone else alarm go off during heavy hail shower? Currently occurring in the midlands and for the second time the alarm has gone off. Last time it happened I cleaned all my door sensors thinking it was rain getting in and shorting, but it's happened again this time. Beginning to think the vibration from hitting against my none insulated HT is playing with the ultrasonic sensor

It'll be the sensor, although mine hasn't done it.

The sensor is basically a sonar, the noise on the roof will fool it. Just like reversing beepers and alarms can fool parking sensors.

Sticking 3 or 4 deadening pads on the inside of your tin roof will help (you don't have to cover the whole thing with them)

Then if you want to go a bit further cover the deadening pads and the whole inside of the roof with 6mm closed cell foam.

That'll have the added benefits of improving the noise levels when driving and offer better thermal insulation too.

Thanks for replies, food for thought. Probably end up trying to insulate it somehow...
