Are you wanting just to paint?

If not, you are aware you can polish away?
Depends what you want though. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Ah yes, pretty sure vinegar it is as suggested here.

For some bizarre reason when I posted earlier I thought you meant Alu Chequer plate.
My fault. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I'd opt for primer, filler, epoxy sealer, paint base, clear.

Obviously there is the sanding steps in between, don't use wet and dry wet though with filler as its porous and will take on moisture. Use it dry.
Panel wipe also needed for each step, but I don't panel wipe between base and clear, everything else I do.

I'm sure you know all of this anyway. Thumbs Up

Masking wise there is some nice very cheap polythene dust sheets on eBay for just a couple of quid and some blue 3m masking tape would be helpful too.

After the vinegar just make sure it's panelwiped, Upol 20 fast wipe would be ideal.
Beware of its fumes, use in well ventilated areas. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Many thanks for all the info, Thumbs Up great, goes along with what I was thinking of doing, might try and get some of the aircraft stuff first, but last resort, vinegar it is.
