Can it be done? Bezel Louvre side air vents on a TD5
Its the time of year again when driving anywhere the side windows mist up and you can see ... nowt! Arguably in Scotland that time is between Late August and early June. Confused

My idea is (without spending £100+ on vents) to fit Bezel Louvre vents off a Puma to the sides?

Surely someone has tried this...?

My thoughts are, take off the dash, fit in a bit of conduit pipe to the main windscreen blowers, divert it along to the side, drill a... probably square hole, and attached a Bezel vent?

Can it be done? or why can't it be done? Chris

I have not seen those vents being used, but I do remember someone DIYing vents with bulkhead fixings and ducting...

Probably on here...

I'm planning to do the exact same thing using the above vents, I cant imagine it will be too difficult.

Ok, these are similar to what I had in mind.
But can you use the side air vents off a puma?

Anyone happen to know the dimensions of one? See if it will fit the side. Chris

Could work, it just depends on the dimensions of the puma vents 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

think you will find you will be very limited by using those vents. The heater controls at the driver's end don't leave much room for a duct/vent to pass through.
Passenger side the rubber handle only has a small area too.

The defenderdemister kits have possibly the largest round vents you could easily fit with the convoluted tubing.

Cheers rallysteve.

Reading up on it, everyone seems to have used 15-20mm conduit.

Anyone know where i could find the dimensions to a puma vent? Chris

Funnily enough this exact same mod went through my head a couple of days ago Laughing

I'm planning on implementing it slightly differently. I'm going to feed air into the top of the door card via a sealed duct. When the doors are shut air will pass into the door card and then escape between the top of the door card and glass which should hopefully demist the whole window.

I'm also planning a fan upgrade for more airflow Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Oooo what you thinking? Secondary inline fan motor or replace the existing one?
