Genuine check...
Bit of a odd request,

is there any way of telling if this heritage grill is correct and genuine?

There is a positive comment about Woodhouse in this thread

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic51251.html

Lot of money for a plastic grille - bit of a marmite item, I hated it on my heritage, but its grown on me a bit over time. That grille includes the badge, which are trading at about £100 alone. Current Steeds:
2015 110 UW in Grasmere Green
2003 BMW F650 the Hack
2000 Elise
1992 Ducati 888 (no longer in bits, yahoo)
1990 TDR 250 (in bits again)
1988 TDR 250 (no longer in bits) and for sale

Have you tried Dan at Duckworth Parts as maybe a more reliable source? James

^ agree I would be spending my money at the dealer to be sure, Ebay could be anything....

Unless its considerably more of course?

But worth getting a quote first,

Aren't genuine grills only available by producing a valid heritage VIN? Darren

I think it is a bit of a grey area. I got a quoted for a genuine Adventure Grille without a VIN number but couldn't justify the £540 cost. I know MCMA1 has several Adventure parts (grille, gear levers) so they must be available... James

Would it not be fairly easy to get the vin number off one?

Adventure as well as Heritage parts are available without producing a VIN. I bought several of each edition from Dan in UK as well as from my own dealer here in Switzerland without a problem. Have not tried to buy any Autobiography parts, but then again, nothing of interest there. Whistle
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
