Dirt Defenders
Hi,

Has anyone fitted the plastic 'Dirt Defenders' wheel arch extensions to their Defenders?
Are they any good? Do they work?

Cheers

Cheers Ray,

Do you find that mud/road grit collects between them and under sill?
Or do they fit as a tight seal as I have chequer/tread plate sills fitted.

Cheers

Excellent bit of kit, fitted them to my HT90 and the wifes XS 90. On my had to plasma cut the chequer to get a neat fit, on the wifes with genuine landrover chequer being thinner didnt need to cut it. Certainly keeps dirt of the door handles. 2015 HT XS 90

I have front and back on my 110 with chequer on rear quarter but none on the sill and with the provided strip of adhesive backed foam fitted no dirt or grit gets through in between the panel and the dd. Ray

There is a few threads on here if you do a bit of mining with the search function.

I fitted them to stop the amount of muck being thrown up the rear quarters by the tyres and they do a fine job. I was nervous about the drilling into my prized baby but the results are worth it.

D Defenders..
If you fit them all - there are 6 of them: back of the front wheels, front and back of the rear wheels. Simple design - but works well. My tyres are OEM Wrangler MT 235/85/16 - after adding Terrafirma 30mm spacers the dirt D-Fenders still work well. 255/85/16's may cause some dirt to cling to body work again?

Yes i only fitted them to the back of the rear wheels and they do a good job Thumbs Up As i have jackable sills i find they do a great job of keeping the mud and dirt off the side from the front wheels Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Have bought a pair of DD-fenders for both front and back and wondering if any of you gents used self tapping screws or if you all riveted these on? Haven't got a rivet gun but if that's the preferred method I better get one! MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

I can't see why not to use small self tappers.. If you were closer Jaro I would lend you a rivet gun.
