South Africa 2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 SW Alpine White
1951 Series 1 'Evening Standard'
Spotted this at my local indie workshop yesterday.

1951 Series 1, still with the original engine, gearbox, transfer case, and paint work!

The story goes that it was used by Evening Standard to deliver papers.

Recently sold for R250,000 Shocked

Circa £15k probably worth that if all original although cab behind the doors looks a bit odd to me - maybe 1950's styling 2020 P300 HSE

The truck cab is essentially correct although I think it probably came from a 107" or 109", not an 86" or 88", since it has the fittings for the front of a 3/4 tilt. This was not standard on the shorties (which were never available from LR with a 3/4 tilt) and the back of the cab should be smooth.

Smooth-back 86"/88" truck cabs seem to be exceptionally rare, since I don't think that many people originally fitted truck cabs to short wheelbase Series Ones so I doubt that many were made.

Edit - it must have been chopped about a bit to fit an 80" anyway, it's not an 80" truck cab.
