TD5 injectors colours?
Hi all. Quick question. Are the colour coding on the injectors (green, black, yellow...) specific to an engine type (10p or 15p) or vehicle (discovery or defender)?

Or is it just a matter of all black or green or yellow not mixed...

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I can't see any yellow injectors anywhere - sure that's not the solenoids? Everywhere selling / talking about injectors seems to be suggesting there's two types based on the head - one is either blue or black (MSC000040), and that's the earlier type, which has a lower pressure, or green (MSC000030), which is the later type with a higher pressure. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's a Defender or Disco.

Depending on where you look, it seems you can't use the earlier types in a later head, but you can (according to some anyway) use the green injectors in an earlier head, possibly at a lower efficiency. Some suggestion that it's because the earlier types bottom out, but not found out for sure.

Having this odd dilemma at the moment as appear to have a later type (EU3) head on an earlier 10p engine... still trying to figure out what the incompatibilities are myself!

Funnily enough, I ended up with something similar!

15p engine with 10p ancillaries. May be able to answer any specific questions you have.
