Look on the bright side: the more of these monstrosities on the road (in order of sadness of their respective owners, I feel most sorry for the chequer plate one), the more people will appreciate and value a bog-standard Defender, be it a polished and pristine town vehicle or a bent and battered farm truck.

I'm not going to say it sucks, each to their own and all that, but Shocked :

Is it just me or does it seem like 90s and 130s get more than their fair share of tragic overhauls compared to the 110? Which is obviously not immune, just saying people who want to accessorise seem to go for the shorter or longer wheel base more often - is the 110 too 'standard'? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

AM, I think you´re probably right. However, you may have to include the 110 DC in the 90 and 130 group.

110 SW and hardtops are valued for their practical qualities, and useful amounts of covered load space. When modified, often the money is spent inside, on camping and overland equipment.

The 90 and the DC´s are the, lets say, more cartonn-like characters of the range. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,
2008 Td4 90 SW,
2012 2.2 90 SW,

Heavy Track Raids, 255 MT´s,
Recaro CS´s, anorak, wellingtons

Yes, I hadn't considered this, but I think you're on to something.

Add the 90 pick up to the list:

And the rearview mirror on yours? Presumably installed there to get around a legal requirement of one 'being installed'? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...
