For some days ago I offered to drive a bunch of people home from a party – mostly girls. To be precise four girls and a bloke. (One Italian, one French, one from Lithuanian and one from Thailand – the bloke was from England. ) The girls was really excited when they saw the truck. The bloke was put in the back of my 110. During the drive they couldn't stop talking of how cool the car was. “wow! It is such a cool car! Yeah! It is like going on an expedition – yes! Something dangerous! The whole trip they kept going on how fantastic the car was. I just sat silent behind the steering wheel with a smile on my face while driving in the night along the coast of South France.
To put this in perspective – the French girl – which was the most exited (cute accent as well) had been on a day trip to Italy earlier that day in a Porsche! But she was totally blown away of the magnificent Defender.  |

Ah man!!! All I attract is guys at petrol stations.
 last night, kid in a clio deems it important enough to shout, "nice Range Rover mate". To which I shouted back. " I'm not your mate and its an effing Defender". His mate laughed at least.
My girlfriend likes the defender, she thinks as its a 90....it's cute. She also laughs at me during the defender wave moments  ===================================

Ahhh!!! beat me to it. That's all the muff I see in mine. I might rename my muff to a murkin though, sounds more apt to this thread. |

Gotta love a nice muff...for that military look!
As for girl-magnet...anybody else found that suddenly ladies into horses take an interest in you when they've found out you've got the perfect horsebox-towing vehicle? Tragically for them I'm taken, and have done my share of early-morning mucking out over the years!! Real trucks don't have spark plugs |

My Series and Defenders have only ever attracted ladies who look like horses… and when my teenage daughters saw my shiny black 4-seater Morgan with the hood up they giggled “That looks like something Cruella de Ville would drive”.
We may fool ourselves that the cars we drive are “muff magnets” and the chequer plate and camouflage paint show that “we’re well ’ard, innit” but I’m afraid it’s a case of “O wad some Power the giftie gie us, to see oursels as ithers see us”. Rasmussen’s experience simply shows that for every thousand Porsches between Nice and the Italian border, there are only a couple of Defenders. Peter |

Sorry I refuse to believe that a Morgan does not make the lady’s quiver with excitement!!!
If what you say is true you have just ruined my dream of one day owning a Morgan. Oh well still would rather own a Morgan than some German soulless soupped up beetle even if I'd be in it by myself. |
