Wiper issues (changed everything) still problems! HELP!
Hi All,

I have a 1992 Defender and having wiper issues. Intermittent not working and they don't park. Grrr

Done everything:
- Read through the previous posts.
- New park switch.
- New motor.
- New drive cable.
- New wiper boxes.
- New wiper spindles.
- New wiper arms.
- New wiper blades.
- New Lucas stalk!

But still they don't work on intermittent nor will they park.

Advice please??

Thanks

Paul

Have you replaced the relay?

Try sticking the old one back in if they were working properly when you took it out... If not stick a new standard one in & see what happens.

Have you tried hitting it and swearing a lot? I find it doesn't necessarily fix the problem but it does make you feel better for a bit.

Take the park switch off but leave the cables connected. Operate it manualy to see if it works while the wipers are running.

This will show if any issue between the gears and the park switch.

What does work with them?

Do they wipe when you wash?

Do both speeds work from the stalk?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

they wipe on both speeds, don't park, nor work intermittently.

They don't wipe when you spray the washer either.

I'm thinking wiring!

Not much else to change so must be a wiring issue.
Did you add/change anything on the vehicle before the problem started?
